COOKIE POLICY

LastĀ updated:Ā 11Ā MarchĀ 2021Ā

This Policy explains howĀ YETI UK LimitedĀ (ā€œYETIā€, ā€œweā€Ā or ā€œusā€)Ā uses cookiesĀ and other trackersĀ to provide functionality and enhance the user experience forĀ people (ā€œvisitorsā€ or ā€œusersā€) who visitĀ ourĀ eu.yeti.comĀ website (ā€œSiteā€).

1. What are cookiesĀ and other trackers?Ā

Cookies are text files that are placed on your computer or mobile or handheld device (such as smartphones or tablets) when you visit certain pages on the internet. They are used to ā€œrememberā€ when your computer or device accesses thisĀ Site. Cookies are stored in your browser.Ā The cookie will help theĀ Site, or anotherĀ website, toĀ recognizeĀ your device the next time you visit. Most cookies won’t collect information thatĀ directlyĀ identifies you as aĀ person, andĀ will instead collect more general information such as how visitors arrive at and use ourĀ Site. Cookies may, however, be used to create a profile of the visitor's activities on the Internet.Ā Ā

Clear GIFs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on your device’s hard drive, clear GIFs are embedded invisibly on web pages. We may use clear GIFs (a.k.a. web beacons, web bugs or pixel tags), in connection with our Site to, among other things, track the activities of Site visitors, help us manage content, and compile statistics about Site usage. We and ourĀ third partyĀ service providers also use clear GIFs in HTML emails to our customers, to help us track email response rates, identify when our emails are viewed, and track whether our emails are forwarded.Ā

2. Types of cookiesĀ

Session cookiesĀ

Session cookies are stored only temporarily during a browsing session and are deleted from the visitor’s device when the browser is closed.Ā

Persistent cookiesĀ

This type of cookie is saved on yourĀ deviceĀ for a fixed pre-defined period of time (usually a couple of months) and is not deleted when the browser is closed. Persistent cookies are used where we need to be able toĀ recognizeĀ your device for more than one browsing session. Persistent cookies used on thisĀ SiteĀ have a maximumĀ lifespanĀ ofĀ thirteen months;Ā please see below for further details.Ā

First party cookiesĀ

First party cookies are set by theĀ websiteĀ you areĀ visitingĀ and they can only be read by that site.Ā

Third party cookiesĀ

Third party cookies areĀ notĀ set by the owner of theĀ websiteĀ you are visiting, but by a different organization. For example, advertisers and other third parties may use their own cookies when you click on an advertisement or link on ourĀ SiteĀ or we might engage a third-party analytics companyĀ thatĀ will set their own cookie to perform this service.Ā Ā

3. Categories of cookiesĀ

The different types of cookies set out above can be categorized as follows:Ā

Strictly necessary cookies:Ā

These are cookies that are required for the operation of ourĀ Site, such as to ensure security.Ā Other strictly necessary cookiesĀ allow us to provide servicesĀ that youĀ expressly request, such as a default language.Ā TheseĀ cookies do not require your consent and cannot be switched offĀ (although in some cases you can change your requests).Ā You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of ourĀ SiteĀ may not work if you block these types of cookies.Ā

Performance cookies:Ā

These allow us toĀ analyzeĀ Site usage,Ā namelyĀ toĀ recognizeĀ and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around ourĀ SiteĀ when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way ourĀ SiteĀ works, for example, by ensuring that visitors are finding what they are looking for easily. If you do not consent to these types ofĀ cookiesĀ we will not be able to improve ourĀ Sites based on information from your visit.Ā Ā

Functional cookies:Ā

These cookies are used to provide certain functionalities to you byĀ recognizingĀ you when you return to ourĀ SiteĀ so that we can offer you a better experience on thisĀ Site. For instance, this enables us to set a cookie to store your preferences regarding the cookies on ourĀ Site.Ā Ā

Targeting cookies:Ā

These cookies are used to tailorĀ advertisements and contentĀ to your interestsĀ (ā€œTargetingā€), both within and beyond ourĀ Sites. These cookies record your visit to ourĀ Site, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make ourĀ SiteĀ and theĀ TargetingĀ displayed on it, and the marketing messages we send to you,Ā more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties who provide a service to us for this purpose. These cookies are sometimes also referred to asĀ TargetingĀ cookies. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of theĀ TargetingĀ campaign and to monitor from whichĀ TargetingĀ source a visitor was directed towards ourĀ SiteĀ so that we know whether it is worth us investing in that particularĀ TargetingĀ source.Ā Ā

These cookies may be set through ourĀ Site or by ourĀ third partyĀ TargetingĀ partners. They may be used by thoseĀ TargetingĀ partners to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directlyĀ identifyingĀ personalĀ information, butĀ are based on uniquely identifying your browser and Internet device. If you do not consent to these types of cookies, you will experience less targetedĀ TargetingĀ (but not lessĀ TargetingĀ overall).Ā Ā
